Review: Meadow Farm B&B in Cambridge

I was fortunate enough to go for a weekend away with my dad in Cambridge. On the saturday we went to the 'flying legends' show at Duxford aerodrome and then we stayed over night in the 'Meadow Farm B&B'. Overall a lovely place to stay.

On arriving it was clear that this was a very looked after and luxury looking place. The exterior of the building looks like a done up farmhouse with the wood and brick work.

We quickly went and introduced ourselves to the owners who were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was in the side house you can see to the left on the picture above (with the black door). This was lovely as it was like a private place to ourselves. We then asked the owner for directions to our dinner place and he was very helpful.
We quickly got settled into the hotel looking room. For a B&B just off a main road it was extremely well kept and posh looking.
Because we had requested a twin set up a bed had been put in the first room. This room would have initially had a table and chairs for relaxing and eating on.
The room picture above was mine. Very comfy bed however because there was no blind over the door the light streaming in in the morning did wake me before I had wanted.
Although I probably shouldn't complain as it's not even supposed to be set up as a bedroom.
The road noise is defiantly noticeable. However we're not used to having this noise whereas some of you maybe. Even with the double glazed windows, trying to sleep next to a main road was a little tricky.
The B&B is a self catering one so also in the first room was a small kitchen set up. The breakfast was supplied the day before as so was all ready for you to use in the morning. There was bread, milk, smoothies, fruit juice in the fridge. A cooker, toaster, hotplate and kettle were also provided. There were plenty of cutlery, bowls, mugs and plates to use as well. An improvement that could have been made would be to have a coffee machine to make some proper filter coffee. However this is just me being picky.
This was the second room which was the main bedroom. Again a lovely set up with high quality and comfortable furniture.
A TV with free view was also supplied. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable.
Apologies for the mess in this photo but just showing the bathroom. I personally love this interior style. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shower caps and other hotel like bathroom items were supplied.

Overall the room was lovely. A great area as well as it's near to cambridge. Free Wi-Fi is available to those who would like it. The local town had some great pubs, some shops you could use to pick up more food to use in the kitchen and some small shops for personal items. The rooms were well equipped, clean and a good price of £90 a night. I've defiantly stayed in worse places for a higher price. There was a lovely garden area with chilrens' play equipment and seating areas that guests could use if they wished. I would defiantly recommend that you give this place a go if you're in the area. Would defiantly stay there again if I was around Cambridge.
